One of our male ducks has been missing since July 20th. Everyone flew out that evening and it took some time to round them up. The Professor was the last to return to the yard at dusk and we haven’t seen Dr. Drake again.
This is very sad. We’ve been waiting for him to return, but it’s been a solid week now and I am thinking that he’s not coming back. Part of me will remain eternally hopeful that a strange male duck will show up here some day with full breeding plumage and it’ll be Drake coming back to be part of the family.
In the meantime, the Professor is sitting pretty here being the only male with two females to hang out with. I am sure that as far as he is concerned, Drake can stay gone.
