One of the things I have never liked in this house are the plain brown doors and molding. They are consistent through the old part of the house. These are the linen closet and bathroom door, respectively. There is absolutely nothing interesting about these doors. Functional they are. But pretty? Not in my view.
Enter Tygh. Fixer of all things here. Maker of things that make his wife happy. He decided to take one door down and paint it and the molding to see how we liked it. Then he primed and painted the old door and added new hardware and raised panels to give the door some interest. Um, yes please. Finished result is beautiful. And we feel good about reusing the doors rather than buying new. Here is the first finished door.
