At the beginning of the year, I set a goal to run 365 miles by December 31. Before the move, I was practically home free. Down to about 30 miles, it looked like I might wrap up by goal by August or September at the latest. I am sure I’ll get across the line, but I don’t have as many snow days in the bank as I had before.
My current priority is to get this shed wrapped up by the end of next week. I have made some progress. The plywood is now on there and everything looks great, but the rains are starting and I am anxious to get this finished.

I’ve watched about a dozen youtube videos about installing shingles at this point, so I can talk a good game.
Here is my ToDo list:
Part 1: Prepare roof for shingles:
- Finish installing synthetic underlayment
- Install faux rafters on the edges of the overhanging plywood on the gable ends of the roof, cut them to length
- Install fascia and barge boards around the shed
- Install drip edge / rake edge all around the shed
Part 2:
- Shingles
- Ridge vent and cap shingles
